Geography Awareness Week

3rd Week in November:

Raise geographic knowledge and participate in Geography Awareness Week. The goal of Geographic Awareness week is to improve the geographic literacy of young people ages 8-17 by motivating parents and educators to expand geographic offerings in school, at home and in their communities.

National Geographic Bee

  • School Bees: November 12, 2012–January 15, 2013
  • State Bees: April 5, 2013
  • National Level: May 20–22, 2013

Participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society and encourage geography in the classroom. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for the competition. Find sample questions, registration information and more at the National Geographic website.
